Lonnie was born on April 25, 1944 to Samuel and Velma (Lafler) Sines. He is a veteran of the USAF and served at DaNang AFB from 1964-1965. He was employed by Martin Marietta/Unimin Corporation as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic for over 30 years. Lonnie had many interests and activities he enjoyed such as hunting, fishing, reading western books, doing crossword puzzles, feeding and watching birds, watching western movies and television shows, tinkering in his garage working on various projects, throwing horseshoes, drag car racing when he was a young man; watching football, NASCAR, baseball and boxing. His favorite activity was being in the woods cutting wood or hunting on a sunny day with snow on the ground...he loved just sitting for a bit to watch, listen and relax where he felt most peaceful.
World's best cook!
Lonnie loved spending time with family and friends. If there was a baby anywhere nearby, you would find him holding or playing with it! He was often spotted at Walmart, where he always found a friend or family member to chat with and always had a kind word for everyone. Family was very important to Lonnie and he always made every attempt to make everyone feel as loved as they were. He had lots of words of wisdom for his family, most often said being "Better safe than sorry!". He was a very helpful guy and was always there for family and friends in any way he was needed. He was a wonderful man who will be missed more than he ever could have imagined.
